Publisher PlayStack and Developer Maze Theory are proud to announce that Doctor Who The Edge Of Time will hit VR platforms in September. Below is a trailer:
Doctor Who The Edge Of Time VR will place you into the shoes of Jodie Whitaker’s incarnation and will be voiced by the actress herself. Players will get to embark on an original Doctor Who adventure full of aliens, mystery and wonder that is inspired by 55 of the shows running. The Doctor has been thrown through time to the end of the Universe. At the end of the Universe the Doctor learns of a new threat that will wipe out the Universe as we know it. Players will have to pilot the TARDIS across new worlds and familar ones. Players will have to solve mind-bending puzzles armed with the Sonic Screwdriver, fight classic monsters and discover new and amazing Planets. Both old and new enemies will stand in your way on this adventure.

Head of Digital Entertainment and Games for BBC Studio’s Bradley Crooks had this to say about the project:
“VR is the perfect home for a truly immersive Doctor Who adventure. Fans and newcomers alike will be able experience the universe of Doctor Who like never before, working with the Doctor and facing enemies new and old. Gaming is a key part of the future of Doctor Who and allows us to tell new and exciting stories beyond the TV screen.”
Marcus Moresby the Maze Theory Creative Director says:
“Maze Theory is committed to re-defining storytelling through awesome, innovative and immersive experiences in virtual reality. Doctor Whois an incredibly exciting and timeless franchise with a passionate and committed global fan base. We are looking to give them an entirely new experience; an opportunity to team-up with the Doctor and feel like they are in the show. This of course includes piloting the TARDIS, a dream come true for fans!”

We will update you on this incredible project as news comes in. I for one cannot wait for Doctor Who on VR and to finally pilot the Tardis myself.
