Rocket League developers Psyonix has announced that Rocket League will be free to play later this summer. The new update racing its way to you will be the biggest yet including major changes to the tournaments and challenge systems.
Players who have already purchased the game will be rewarded with legacy status which will include:
- All Rocket League-branded DLC released before free to play
- “Est. 20XX” title that displays the year when the player first started playing Rocket League
- 200+ Common items upgraded to “Legacy” quality
- Golden Cosmos Boost
- Dieci-Oro Wheels
- Huntress Player Banner
Furthermore, players who played Rocket League before the announcement will receive an extra item, the Faded Cosmos Boost. All items will be awarded to players when the game goes free to play this summer.
Rocket League will also debut on the Epic Games store but be removed from steam for all NEW players when the update becomes available. Players who have already purchased the game on Steam will still get full support and updates.
