Those who are in search of a time-bending mystery game, Echoes of Mora, might be the game for you. You are Mora, and she is looking for her brother, who went missing around the lake. On this journey, Mora discovers far more than she expected to and uncovers a village lost to the great floods. The game blends both storytelling and exploration very well this creates a formula that pulls you in from the start. Echoes of Mora reminds me of Everyone’s Gone To Rapture. In the village, people have left behind echoes of the past events, all with different and engaging stories to listen to.

I loved exploring the cursed violet lake, especially in virtual reality. The game offers a flat screen and VR mode. The game feels way more immersive in virtual reality, which is to be expected, especially when exploring the hauntingly beautiful flooded village. Also, in VR, more movement is added, which just adds another layer to it all. They have created an incredible world here.

Overall, I had a good time with Echoes of Mora, in both flat screen and virtual reality. I think the narrative is really interesting, and adding time-bending mechanics sold me, especially unravelling the mysteries of the cursed violet lake and just exploring all the world had to offer. If you’re looking for something that isn’t too intense and fast-paced, Echoes of Mora might be the next game for you. The game releases 29th of April on Steam.
