Of Life & Land, developed by Kerzoven and published by Metaroot, is available now on Steam right now and you can find it HERE.
Of Life & Land is a content-rich settlement-building strategy game that is paired with a rich simulation experience. Every plant and animal strives to find its place in nature, all the while you lead your villagers to a safe and prosperous future. As the game progresses, you’ll expand to different regions and trade with local factions to gain much-needed resources for survival. Along the way, you’ll experience many different challenges that will change the way you play, trying to make sure your villagers survive.

Features:
- Unique deep simulation of nature in a building strategy game with complex interdependence between humans and nature.
- Manage simultaneously the acquisition, refining and distribution of resources on multiple maps in different climatic conditions.
- Manage the needs of the citizens. They are “alive” and have a specific home, workplace, and unique needs.
- Animals are looking for food, get thirsty, sleepy, and form social groups to find their place in nature.
- Plants grow and are affected by the actions of humans, animals, and their environment.
- Seasons and climate affect the gameplay, as certain plants grow only under certain conditions. Temperature affects humans, animals, plants, and the environment.
- Interact and trade with other factions that produce goods with the same rules as you do.
- Create your own maps and scenarios in the editor and extend them using mods.
- Charming and calm low-poly art style.

In Of Life & Land, at first, the survival of your small village group is key; it doesn’t matter much about human influence at this stage, it’s just about survival. As society starts to form and you start to grow into villages, towns and cities, everything you do starts to influence the world around you. This means that things such as animal groups can become extinct, or on the other hand, their population increases depending on your actions. When trying to grow into a town/city, you’ll have to manage your resources carefully. The citizens are your number one at all times; they are the life and soul of a successful run. Each citizen has unique goals and needs; you’ll need to take care of them to thrive. But animals also look for food, get thirsty, sleepy, form groups, look for social interactions, and try to find their place in nature. Even plants need water and the right temperature to survive.

Seasons and weather can affect gameplay. Plants will only grow in certain seasons and will need water on hot days or freeze during winter. The animals will also be affected by the world around them, and winter becomes quite a struggle for the animals and humans to find food. You must guide them to make sure they survive.

Of Life & Land looks like a lot of fun. I love how the world seems to all function as everything changes, whether it’s the animal/plant population, the seasons and more. It’s a game that I want to play quite a lot. I love games similar to this where you have to put some deep thought into the survival of your communities, and if you do good, it will pay off in big ways. I cannot wait to try this out. It has been added to my Steam Wishlist.
