Dungeon Golf developed by Ant Workshop is available now on PC in early access and its free Halloween update will arrive on the 17th of October. The kind folk at Ant Workshop let us preview their upcoming Undead Lair update here are our thoughts.

Dungeon Golf is a game that puts an interesting twist on crazy golf, you’ll fight enemies to get your hits down, unlock chests to boost your abilities and explore some whacky themes throughout. In Dungeon Golf, you’ll choose from an array of funny characters from a Skeleton that uses his leg as a golf club and a ninja shadow that can use his powers to teleport to where he needs to be. Each character has unique abilities from combat abilities and buffs to help you get to the target quicker, I especially enjoyed the donkey’s power of being able to charge in a straight line through enemies, it really helps when you’re trying to get a hole in one or a hole in none. Hole in none you ask? The aim of the game is basically to try to get the ball in the hole in the least amount of hits. In Dungeon Golf, you can actually get to the hole with 0 hits if you strategically hit enemies on the way and use chests to power up your mana. If the enemy hits you, your hits go up and you may lose the game because of it. The whole dungeon twist on golf works really well, think of golf with your friends but this has a lot more to it with its systems that make a game of crazy golf vs the AI or players, much more interesting.

The Undead Lair update adds a Halloween theme with extra courses and adds your usual decorations of scary pumpkins, spiders, and skulls. I enjoy the Halloween themes in games when it reaches October and Dungeon Golf knocked it out of the park when it comes to their spooky update. The update adds a new quest line and a new 6-course map on top of what the original game gives you. Dungeon Golf is also really fun with friends, there are so many possibilities you can either take the game online or do it locally via split-screen and it really does become such a laugh. There are also new zombie enemies and those who know me know how much I love zombies so it was interesting getting to fight them on each course to try and get my hit points lowered to zero so I could get the hole-in none.

Overall, Dungeon Gold is really fun so far, there is a lot of content there; it does something other golf games don’t do and works really well. With an array of characters to experience and fun and interactive courses, it really is something different which is a huge positive. The game itself is only £14.99 and I think at that price point, it has so much variety that it is enough to keep you busy for a while. Dungeon Golfs Undead Lair update just adds more to the formula and provides a good Halloween laugh with friends. Dungeon Golf is currently in Early Access and you can find it HERE. The free Halloween update goes live on October 17th and is completely free!
