If you’re like me and love post-apocalyptic games, especially RPGs then this might just scratch that itch! In partnership with publisher Versus Evil, Indie Studio Drop Bear Bytes have released a brand new demo of their post-apocalyptic isometric RPG Broken Roads on Steam. You can check out a trailer below!
Broken Roads is a narrative-driven RPG with players exploring an all-new Australian post-apocalypse with many choices leading to the game’s narrative changing as you go. Your starting story impacts your reputation, how people interact with you, and even where you begin your journey and which locations will be available.

In the demo, all moral choices will be visible, though, in the full game, some of these will be hidden based on how you roleplay your character. If you prefer to play with all choices revealed in the full game, Drop Bear Bytes have given that as an option so that players can play their chosen way. Your companions and other characters will also have their own hidden moral leaning and will react to everything you say, do and your attitude.
“We decided to reveal all moral choices for this demo to give players an indication of other paths you can take when you create a character with a different world view. Broken Roads is a dense game, with each character having their own set of values. We want each NPC’s world view to reveal itself slowly as they react to the player, so your choices affect not only the path through the game, but how much you learn about – and connect with – the game’s cast.”
Craig Ritchie, Game Director at Drop Bear Bytes
